Ylang Ylang

Did you know that in the 1920s, ylang ylang was incorporated into one of the most famous perfumes of all time—Chanel No. 5.?  The very first time I experienced this exquisite oil I was in love! Have you ever inhaled its sweet scent? I highly recommend you do! Your whole emotional being is going to feel sensually awake.

This alluring flower became known to European explorers in the 1600s, and very much sought after by the French nobility. But today we rarely come in contact with the real essence of this exotic flower. The beauty industry use a synthetic form of ylang ylang hidden in the word "Fragrance."

Ylang Ylang essential oil comes from the flower petals of the large, tropical Ylang Ylang tree. Ylang Ylang means "flower of flowers"  It has a sweet, naturally rich floral scent that is uplifting.
The real Ylang ylang essential oil contains up to 161 individual compounds. The power-house component of ylang ylang is linalool, which is known for its calming effects. In fact, studies have shown that linalool brings elevated stress levels to almost normal conditions and because this is an essential oil, the aromatherapy benefits make this ritual of toning that much more exquisite. In aromatherapy, inhaling of ylang ylang can transmit messages to the area of the brain that control our emotions. This same region of the brain that is triggered by ylang ylang has a profound effect on our central nervous system, blood pressure, breathing and immune function. This ingredient really serves double duty not only for beautifying effects but for our overall sense of well-being.

Our Ylang Ylang is sourced from an organic, family owned farm in Madagascar.
